Why transfer film to DVD?
Unfortunately, film degrades over time. When you transfer film to DVD you are able to preserve the wonderful memories the footage contains without worrying about the films wasting away. Additionally, you will be able to share them without the strain of running them through a projector or even having to set up a projector! Once you transfer film to DVD it can be viewed on any DVD player or computer with a DVD drive. Parrot Video Services can easily transfer your home movies to DVD for you.
The film transfer to DVD process
You may have attempted a film transfer to DVD or VHS on your own and found that the picture is dull with an annoying flicker. This is caused by am imperceptible shuttering effect used by film projectors to reduce the ghosting of images when we watch them. Parrot uses a professional film transfer to DVD process, something which many so-called video services companies cannot say, to produce bright, flicker free results. If there needs to be any additional image enhancement or color correction then it will be done as a complimentary service. Background music is also complimentary, if desired.
As the technicians at Parrot carefully work with your irreplaceable films, they will clean and repair them. As they prepare for the transfer, any black sections of footage will be removed. When they are done with your films they will be placed on reels and covered in plastic shrink-wrap to protect them from the elements.
