Many of us have great old home movies that are becoming to delicate to watch, if we even have a film projector! A film to video transfer will allow all of those great memories to be preserved in a modern format, such as VHS or DVD, which can be easily viewed without fear of damaging your films. However, if you have ever set up a projector and camcorder and tried to record your movies (or know anyone who has) you soon discover that there is a "flicker" in the video playback. This keeps most people from trying to transfer home movies to DVD or VHS themselves.

The flicker is caused because of the difference in film and video. When film is shown, in order to be seen right by the human eye every frame (and there are 16 or 24 frames every second, depending on the film you are using) is briefly blacked out. Because video does not work this way (and aggravated by the fact it refreshes 30 times a second) it makes this blackout in the middle of each frame noticeable and creates a flicker. Parrot uses a professional film to video transfer process that eliminates the flickering. In addition, Parrot provides the following free services to every film transfer project:
